About the name
The Morrígan is the Irish goddess of battle and sovereignty, appearing as a crow over the field and deciding who does not leave it. The name divides two ways and scholars have not settled it: mór-ríoghain, great queen, or mor-ríoghain with the older root for terror or phantom.
That ambiguity is the name. It is not a soft choice and does not pretend to be, which is precisely its appeal to parents who want mythology with teeth rather than mythology with fairies.
Three syllables, stress on the first, said MOR-ee-gan. Distinct enough from Morgan to survive being mistaken for it. On our vibe map it is Mythological with Dark Academia close behind.
