Kua depends on two things and nothing else: the year your baby was born, and whether they are a boy or a girl. Find the year, read across. Every number links through to its own directions.
The short answer
2026: boys are Kua 2, girls are Kua 4.
2027: boys are Kua 1, girls are Kua 8. Which means the crib faces Northeast for a 2026 boy and North for a 2026 girl.

One catch: the year turns over in February
This chart is keyed to the solar year, which begins at Start of Spring (立春) around February 4 — not January 1. A baby born on 20 January 2026 belongs to 2025 for this purpose, and reads off the 2025 row rather than the 2026 one. It is the single most common way a hand-computed Kua comes out wrong, and it catches roughly one baby in eleven.
